2.8 FABRICATION
A. General: Fabricate units with tight seams and joints, with edges and corners free of sharp edges. Remove burrs. Hem edges of sheet metal minimum 1/2 inch (12 mm) on unexposed side. Minimize joints; form connections with hairline joints in inconspicuous locations.
B. Equip units for concealed anchorage where indicated, utilizing corrosion-resistant backing plates. Fabricate anchors to secure detention toilet accessories rigidly in place and to resist anticipated loads.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 INSTALLATION
A. Assemble fixtures and associated fittings and trim in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
B. Install supports attached to building structure for equipment requiring supports.
C. Grab Bars: Install grab bars to withstand downward load of not less than 250 lbf (1112 N) per ASTM F 446.
D. Apply security sealant in a continuous ribbon around perimeter of back of surface-mounted detention toilet accessories.
E. Install detention toilet accessories using security fasteners recommended by manufacturer for application.
F. Install equipment level, plumb, and firmly in place in accordance with manufacturer's rough-in drawings.
3.2 CLEANING AND PROTECTION
A. Repair or replace defective work, including damaged equipment and components.
B. Clean unit surfaces, and leave in ready-to-use condition.
C. Clean mirrors with products recommended by mirror manufacturer.
1. Do not clean Plexiglas mirrors with abrasive cleaning products.
D. Turn over keys, tools, maintenance instructions, and maintenance stock to Owner.
3.3 TESTING AND ADJUSTING
A. Test each piece of equipment provided with moving parts to assure proper operation, freedom of movement, and alignment.
B. Repair or replace malfunctioning equipment, or equipment with parts that bind or are misaligned.
