Bradley "Gets the Lead Out" With the Introduction of its Navigator Lead-Free Thermostatic Mixing Valves
Jan 12, 2009MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis., (Jan. 12, 2009)- As the plumbing products industry moves toward complying with lead-free legislation, Bradley introduces its Navigator Lead-Free Valves, meeting these lead-free requirements and making the valves even safer for drinking or cooking water and better for the environment.
California's new lead law, CA AB 1953, and a similar law in Vermont, which require reducing the lead levels in fixtures used to convey drinking water to be less than 0.25%, will go into effect January 1, 2010. As of February 2009, all Navigator Thermostatic Mixing Valves - standard, high-low and emergency - will be lead-free*. Each valve is made with lead-free brass as the main raw material, complete with lead-free brass castings and bar stock, and stainless steel. Still, the new lead-free valves will continue to uphold their proven performance - they will work and look the same way as they did previously to blend incoming hot and cold water to regulate water temperature within a set point and prevent water temperature extremes such as hot-water scalding.
"Bradley prides itself on being an industry leader that brings the most innovative products to market quickly," says Ryan Pfund, product manager, Bradley. "The Navigator Lead-Free TMVs are another real-life example of that leadership, since Bradley was the first to market with this technology."
"While upholding Bradley's renowned high level of quality, the Navigator TMVs remain the only lead-free, American-made thermostatic valve available, and provide the longest warranty in the industry of 10 years," Pfund says.
Bradley's Navigator TMVs save time and money on installation since no factory technicians are required for valve installation. All Navigator valves are pre-assembled and fully tested at the factory, and meet ASSE, CSA and/or cUPC requirements.
