Bradley's Redesigned Lenox Lockers Get Easier to Install and Maintain, Tougher to Damage
May 21, 2001MENOMONEE FALLS, WI (May 21, 2001) - With its new and revolutionary construction, Bradley's redesigned Lenox™lockers will save architects and builders valuable time on installation, and keep ongoing maintenance requirements at a bare minimum.
Designed by the originator of plastic lockers, Lenox™lockers stand up to the harshest environments and damage, which also reduces maintenance repairs and costs. Now equipped with new construction, hinges, latching mechanisms, handles and slope tops, Lenox™lockers are more durable and easier to install and maintain in the following ways:
Construction: This new patent-pending design features a one-piece, wrap-around box - there are no screws, rivets or joints to complicate installation. The top and bottom are welded in place, and the door and frame assembly is welded to the box. Lockers are shipped fully assembled and ready for installation.
Hinge: Each locker uses a full-length, heavy-duty, type-304 stainless steel piano hinge, which is powder coated to match the color of the locker. The hinge wraps around the door and frame edges to provide added strength and durability.
Latching Mechanism: The lockers come outfitted with a continuous slide latch made of 1/2-inch thick HDPE, which secures the entire length of the door for maximum vandal resistance and security.
Handle: The new ergonomic design of the locker handle incorporates a padlock hasp, which meets ADA's five pounds of force requirement.
Slope Top: The lockers' one-piece slope top design makes installation easy.
Plastic lockers: The smarter choice
With the addition of these new features, Lenox™ lockers now provide even more benefits than metal lockers. The design, construction and performance of Lenox™ lockers is superior to that of their metal counterparts in a variety of ways:
Durability. Lenox™ lockers are unaffected by moisture, humidity, chlorine or salt=" "water - they are completely corrosion-proof and built to last in virtually any type of facility. With an absorption rate of nearly zero, annoying odors won't permeate the locker's solid plastic surface.
Ready to install. Formed by a polymer resin, Lenox™locker components are built and shipped in one solid piece so they are ready to install. Installation merely consists of attaching the lockers together and securing them to the wall. The ready-to-install plastic lockers save time and can reduce installation costs by up to 50 percent.
Solid color. The color of Lenox™ lockers extends from the surface through the entire thickness of locker. Made of solid high-density polyethylene, scratches on Lenox™ lockers are barely visible. Scratches on painted metal lockers, however, are often highly apparent, requiring more maintenance and painting, usually every one to five years.
Easy to clean. Graffiti, markers and dirt are easily removed from lockers with standard industrial cleaning products. The matte surface of the plastic hides dirt and water spots. The glossy surface of most metal lockers however, shows dirt and water, so maintenance crews spend valuable time cleaning and maintaining them.
Impact-resistant. Lenox™ lockers withstand dents and impact that would easily damage metal lockers. The 3/8-inch panel thickness and 1/2-inch door and frame thickness stands up to years of constant use and abuse.
Rust-proof. While metal lockers installed in high humidity or wet areas are sure to rust - sometimes even right through the bottom of the locker - Lenox™ lockers will never rust. Its corrosion-proof design is built to last.
20-year guarantee. In fact, Lenox™ lockers are guaranteed for 20 years against breakage or delamination. The plastic doors, shelves, sides, frames and handles are more durable than thin sheet metal, and withstand years of frequent use that would wear out metal.
Bradley now offers Lenox™ lockers in 11 colors. A wide variety of options including key locks, engraved logos and mesh doors to name a few - are also available.
