Menomonee Falls, WI Company Named 'Exporter of the Year' by U.S. Export Promotion Magazine

Feb 15, 2010

Bradley Corp. has received a 2010 Exporter of the Year award from ThinkGlobal Inc., publisher of Commercial News USA, the official export promotion magazine of the U.S. Commerce Department.

Located in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, Bradley Corp. is an international manufacturer of commercial plumbing fixtures and washroom accessories, and serves a diverse customer base ranging from small local facilities to international corporations such as WalMart, General Motors, U.S. Postal Service, W.W. Grainger, and AMC Theaters Corp.

"Exporting products into emerging markets abroad is an increasingly important part of Bradley's marketing strategy," says Steve Zingsheim, Vice President, International Sales, Bradley Corp. "We are concentrating our international sales efforts throughout North America, Europe and, most recently, the Middle East and South America."

Bradley Corp. offers a wide variety of commercial plumbing products. Architects and specifiers look to Bradley for the most innovative products in categories such as washfountains, security plumbing fixtures, multi-station lavatory systems, Terreon® Solid Surface products, emergency eyewash fixtures and drench showers, patient care lavatory units, commercial faucets, commercial and group showers, washroom accessories, solid plastic locker systems, and washroom partitions. The company sells its products through a customer service staff, domestic and international distributors, and online.

"Our company's commitment to product innovation and strong customer service - as well as aggressive sales promotions in Germany and the Czech Republic -- have all positively influenced our continued success in product exportation," said Zingsheim. "We also work closely with the Department of Commerce and take advantage of services such as the Gold Key in Japan and Mexico. Because of our many years of service in the international community through organizations like Milwaukee World Trade Association (MWTA), we mentor international students enrolled at local area colleges."

Commercial News USA is a catalog-style magazine that reaches more than a quarter million readers in 176 countries worldwide. Awards were given to one U.S. company in each of 11 industry categories. Privately held Bradley Corp. was named Exporter of the Year in the Building Products category. All Exporter of the Year award winners will be profiled in the May-June 2010 issue of the magazine.

Criteria on which winners were selected included the total number of documented export transactions completed in 2008, the total percentage increase in sales in 2008 compared to 2007, exports as percentage of total sales, the company's commitment to exporting, the company's commitment to customer service, and the company's innovation and originality in marketing products or services. To be eligible for the award, a company must currently be exporting from the United States.

Gregory Sandler, publisher of Commercial News USA, said that the success of Bradley Corp. indicates clearly how American companies can benefit from exporting. "American companies that want to grow and to expand beyond their current trading areas need to consider opportunities outside of the U.S.," said Sandler. "World markets offer real potential for U.S. exporters.
