Lead Free in 2014!

Bradley was the first manufacturer to offer lead free thermostatic mixing valves ahead of legislative requirements. Our environmental landscape is changing and the push to reduce lead content in plumbing products has gone nationwide.

On January 4, 2014, the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act takes effect across the country. This act requires plumbing parts that touch water and are anticipated to be used for human consumption must have less than or equal to 0.25% weighted average in lead content. That covers things such as the internal pipes, fittings, and valves of a fixture. This is a good change for our industry and our environment.

As the market leader in industrial hand washing plumbing fixtures Bradley will be one of the first manufacturers to be compliant across all product lines, with the exception of the showers and safety fixtures product lines. The shower and safety fixtures product lines, per our interpretation, fall under the shower exemption of the law and will not be updated.
