Lead Free Valves and Bradley
As a world leader in the manufacturing of commercial plumbing fixtures, Bradley Corp is proud to be an active participant in the movement towards reducing lead content in water. For over 90 years, Bradley has found innovative ways to make products safer for the environment and for consumers. Light-powered hand washing fixtures reduce energy consumption, and recyclable solid surface materials improve indoor air quality.
Nationwide there is a growing concern regarding human exposure to lead through drinking water. California and Vermont both passed laws effective January 1, 2010 requiring wetted surface areas of plumbing fixtures, valves, fittings, and pipes to contain no more than a weighted average of 0.25%. This is a significant reduction from the current law requiring 8% or less.
In anticipation of the new requirements, Bradley is excited to be the first manufacturer to "Get The Lead Out" and offer lead free Thermostatic Mixing Valves. Navigator TMV have recently been certified by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials IAPMO. All components of Bradley's Navigator TMV including brass castings, bar stock, and stainless steel meet the new lead free requirements. Pre-assembled and 100% tested at the factory, Navigator TMV are the only American-made lead free valve on the market, with the longest warranty in the industry.
Reducing lead content and providing safer water will benefit many industries such as education, healthcare, and food service. California and Vermont are leaders in the lead-free plumbing movement, and other states are sure to follow. Bradley Corp shares their vision of the future and will continue to offer innovative, environmentally friendly solutions to benefit all industries.
